Thermal Insulation

Think of insulation as a cocoon for the building against heat, cold and noise.

While ceilings and external walls are a must, also consider internal walls, between floors, under floor if specified, roof cavities abutting walls (such as a garage roof adjoining a wall of a house) and even skylight frames. Air vents to reduce heat buildup in the roof cavity are also recommended.

Then think of the appropriate R rating and type of material for each application. The general rule is for ceiling insulation to be higher than that for walls.

Smart Water and Energy specializes in many types of insulation including:

  • Wool/Polyester blends in Batts and Blanket
  • Polyester Batts
  • Foiled Polyethylene Reflective (air pocket) Building Blanket
  • Styrofoam

Quotes can be given off plans and we will advise on the appropriate application for your house, commercial building or factory shed.

Acoustic Insulation

Noise is an increasingly intrusive element in our lives. For example, we are becoming less tolerant of

  • Internal noise
between floors and rooms, water in pipes, home theatres and the like.
  • External noise
including roads and traffic, aircraft and machinery and equipment.

Our product range includes acoustic batts and blanket, wave bar, sound lag for pipes and carpet underlay and we can advise on solutions to your noise problems
