Cut Water Usage, Save Money, and Still get a Great Shower!

We believe that a total water solution should save money while still providing a quality water service. Most attempts to control excessive water usage involve reduced and unacceptable flow rates at other points in the system. However, Smart Water and Energy can provide the perfect solution to control your system water flow and reduce your water usage, while maintaining sufficient pressure at all other outlets.

Water is getting more expensive, a trend, which will continue as governments apply controls to kerb overuse and wastage of this vital resource. As water usage and related costs increase, the need for cost savings become paramount.

Smart Water and Energy can provide a state-of-the-art "IN TAP" flow control system for all new and existing tapware. Fitting a flow control system to a tap is as easy as changing a tap washer. The full system saves water, conserves energy, eliminates temperature and water flow fluctuations in showers effectively guaranteeing user comfort and satisfaction. It will also reduce your hot water usage, which means a tank full will go a lot further. This is good news to families with teenagers around at shower time.

To fully understand the benefits of a flow control system you need to understand where the benefits occur, Financial, User Comfort and Convenience and Conservation.

Financial
  • Saves Water
All homes waste massive amounts of water unnecessarily. Without compromising your comfort or your lifestyle, a flow control will stop the wastage. The amount of water you can save is determined largely by your overall usage but in any case the saving will be substantial.
  • Conserves Energy
A large proportion of the water you waste is from the hot water system. By saving hot water you can substantially reduce your energy bills.

User Comfort & Convenience
  • Maintains Water Flow
Because a flow control system is fitted to both shower taps the internal system water flow is maintained. This means the shower will operate effectively with no drop in flow or pressure on either hot or cold water. No temperature fluctuations or water flow fluctuations, resulting in a great shower.

Conservation
  • Reduces Water Usage
A flow control system will significantly reduce usage of hot and cold water at the shower, hand basin, kitchen sink and laundry tub.
  • Reduces Sewerage
By reducing your water usage you will dramatically reduce your sewerage discharge. In commercial applications where discharge fees apply, considerable savings can be made.
  • Conserves Energy
A flow control system significantly reduces hot water consumption and therefore reduces the amount of energy required.

Time and Coin Control

Coin or token operated showers are ideal for controlling hot water consumption.

A coin or token timer is used to operate a solenoid valve (electric tap) fitted to your water system, that can turn off the hot water, once the metered time is up. A variety of installation methods can be used to suit a wide range of applications, e.g. Swimming Pool Showers, Caravan Parks and Sports Amenities.

Two types of coin timers are available, Motor Driven or Electronic. For shower control, where low voltage is recommended for safety reasons, the Electronic Timer is ideal.

A variety of installation options are available to control how water is delivered.

Where cold water needs to be limited due to tank or dam water restrictions, a system can be installed that turns off the hot water, followed shortly afterwards, by the cold water.
